Retired TCSO Sergeant Passes Away 

February 15, 2026 – Tulare County Sheriff’s Office officials announce the passing of Retired TCSO Sergeant Nicholas E. Martinez.

It is with great sadness that Sheriff Boudreaux announces the passing of Retired TCSO Sergeant Nicholas E. Martinez.

Sergeant Martinez passed away on February 4, 2026, at the age of 82.

He proudly served the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office for more than 20 years.

Sergeant Martinez began his career with TCSO on June 11, 1973, serving in Patrol, S.T.E.P., and as a Detective before being promoted to Sergeant on June 24, 1988. He retired on January 3, 1994. Before his service with TCSO, Sergeant Martinez served his country in the U.S. Navy.

Sergeant Martinez is survived by his wife, Sally, five sons, two daughters, fifteen grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
