Shooting Investigation 

March 7, 2026 – Fresno Police Department officials report that on Thursday, March 5, 2026, at approximately 8:21 a.m., Central Policing District officers responded to the Family Health Care Network at 1344 W. Clinton Avenue regarding a shooting victim. Upon arrival, officers were advised the shooting suspect was still inside the facility and were provided a description of him. Officers entered the health care building and located the male suspect 69-year-old Bounlab Thammavong in the lobby area. The suspect was arrested without incident and removed from the building. Additional officers searched the interior of the building and located the female victim, in her early 30’s, near the back of the business suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the upper body.

The victim was rendered first aid by officers and then was transported by EMS to the hospital and is currently in critical but stable condition.

Felony Assault Detectives obtained information that the suspect was a patient at the Health Care facility for the past year and was attending a scheduled appointment today. The victim who is a Health care employee at the location contacted the suspect in an exam room when the shooting occurred. The suspect fired multiple shots at the victim and then discarded his firearm inside the building. The firearm was recovered at the scene. Detectives interviewed the suspect where he admitted to shooting the victim. Suspect was arrested for multiple felonies to include attempted murder.
