March 12, 2026 – Kern County Sheriff's Office officials report that on March 9, 2026, deputies with the Metro Patrol Division, along with members of Kern County Code Compliance, Kern County Mental Health, and Flood Ministries, conducted direct enforcement in the Oildale area of Bakersfield, California.

During the operation, eight felony and six misdemeanor arrests were made. Deputies assisted Kern County Code Compliance by removing waste and debris from the area.

Deputies also recovered a large amount of copper wire and Rural Crimes Investigation Unit was called out to assist.

The Kern County Sheriff's Office, along with support from Supervisor Jeff Flores’s Office, remains committed to working collaboratively with county partners and community organizations to address public safety concerns, reduce crime, and improve quality of life for residents throughout Kern County.
