March 16, 2026 – Plumas County Sheriff’s Office officials report that over the past several weeks your Plumas County Deputies have been hard at work! The cases listed below have resulted in multiple arrests and the seizure of approximately 288 grams… or approximately 10 ounces… or just over a half pound… of controlled substances. The following cases are briefly detailed as follows:

On the evening of 02/25/2026, a Plumas County Deputy conducted a traffic stop in the Beckwourth area which led to the arrest of Chilcoot resident, Wade Deberg. Following his arrest, a search of Deberg's person and vehicle revealed methamphetamine and evidence indicative of further criminal activity. Based on this discovery, a search warrant was served at Deberg’s residence which resulted in the seizure of additional methamphetamine and several firearms including an “AK 47” style rifle. Deberg was arrested for various drug and weapon related offenses. A total of approximately 30 grams of methamphetamine were seized during this investigation.

On the evening of 03/05/26 around 6:30 p.m., a Plumas County Deputy conducted a traffic stop in the Portola area after observing a vehicle moving violation. The vehicle occupants, identified as Jonathon Pope and Eric Holmes of Portola, were determined to be under the influence resulting in their arrest. Concealed in Pope’s possessions was a container which held nearly 200 grams of methamphetamine and other evidence indicative of further criminal activity. Pope and Holmes were arrested for various drug related offenses. (Photo included)

On 03/07/2026 around 10:00 p.m., a Plumas County Deputy contacted the occupants of a vehicle which was parked in a suspicious location on Highway 70 just outside Portola. The deputy contacted three Sacramento area residents inside the vehicle and learned one of them had an outstanding warrant. The other two occupants admitted to using and possessing methamphetamine within the vehicle which led to arrest and search. In total, approximately 43 grams of methamphetamine and multiple articles of paraphernalia were seized from within the vehicle. Monica Baca, Benjamin Hollcroft, and Jeffery Burkhart were arrested for various drug related offenses.

On 03/13/26 around 9:00 p.m., a Plumas County Deputy assisted Plumas County Probation with a probation check at the residence of Angelique DeCrona of Quincy. During the probation search, evidence of narcotic and alcohol use was quickly located inside the home. Further investigation led to the discovery of a container which held approximately 15 grams of cocaine and evidence of further criminal activity. At the conclusion of the search, DeCrona was placed under arrest for several drug and child endangerment related offenses. (Photo included)
