Update: We have received several tips that Mr. Howard may have been picked up by a dark colored sedan shortly after leaving the facility around 4:00 p.m. If you gave him a ride, or know who might have, please call us at (559) 675-7770 with details. 

Missing At-Risk Adult with Dementia 

March 22, 2026 – Madera County Sheriff’s Office officials report on an at-risk missing senior 74-year-old Randy Howard. Mr. Howard has dementia and communication deficits and may be disoriented. He is approximately 6 feet tall, 120 lbs. He walked away from his care facility in the area of Meadow Vista Drive and Highway 49 in Oakhurst on March 21, 2026, at approximately 4:00 p.m.

He was last seen wearing a black leather vest and dark jeans with a hat and sunglasses. Mr. Howard walked away from his care facility with his walker and is possibly attempting to hitch hike to Mariposa.
