March 27, 2026 - WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Senator Jacky Rosen voted in favor of a resolution to overturn the Trump
Administration’s extreme rule ending life-saving abortion counseling and reproductive care for veterans. Trump’s rule has taken away life-saving medical care from over 400,000 women veterans, despite Republicans claiming that they would never implement abortion policies that hurt sexual assault survivors or women whose health is jeopardized.
“The Trump Administration’s extreme, anti-choice rule is an abortion ban for women veterans even in the cases of rape, incest, or when the health of the mother is at risk,” said Senator Rosen. “The least we can do as a nation is to protect our veterans’ fundamental right to access life-saving medical care. I’m proud to have voted to overturn Trump’s extreme anti-abortion rule, and Washington Republicans should be ashamed of themselves for having voted this resolution down.”
Senator Rosen continues fighting to support women’s reproductive freedom. After the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, Senator Rosen joined her colleagues in sending a letter to the VA urging them to lift abortion restrictions for veterans and eligible dependents. She helped introduce the Right to Contraception Act, which was blocked by anti-choice Republicans last Congress. She also helped introduce the Let Doctors Provide Reproductive Health Care Act to protect doctors and other health care professionals from being prosecuted for providing reproductive care to their patients, as well as the Women’s Health Protection Act to protect reproductive freedoms in federal law.
