Nevada Man Arrested for Felony Threats 

March 27, 2026 – Sonora Police Department officials report that on March 21, 2026, at 8:56 a.m. the Sonora Police Department received an emergency call for a green Toyota Camry driving recklessly near Walmart. The caller called back, stating the male returned and was driving into oncoming traffic, holding a large knife in his hand, and threatening the caller.

Officers arrived on scene and identified the suspect as 44-year-old Joseph Briggs from Nevada. Briggs was taken into custody and booked into the Tuolumne County Jail for Felony threats with intent to terrorize.

It’s important to remember that the individuals mentioned in this report were arrested based on suspicion of the crimes they’ve been charged with. All such charges are mere allegations, and all defendants are considered innocent until proven guilty.
