April 12, 2026 – Modesto, CA – Modesto Police Department officials report that on Thursday, April 9, 2026, shortly before 4:00 p.m., Modesto Police officers responded to the report of a person down near the Neece boat ramp in the 700 block of Neece Drive.

Upon arrival, officers located 37-year-old Juan Carreon of Modesto, suffering from multiple injuries. He was pronounced deceased at the scene by medical personnel.

Detectives are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the homicide. At this time, the suspect remains outstanding and is not in custody.
