“Fall Plantings & Color in Your Garden”
Presented by Sue Langley
Saturday, September 17th
10:30 a.m. to 12 NOON
Sue Langley, an enthusiastic gardener, photographer and founder of a gardening website, said she got her passion for gardening from working and playing in her mother’s garden as a child. The prolific blogger about a variety of subjects relating to local gardening will talk about “Fall Planting and Color in Your Garden” at an Oakhurst Library Workshop scheduled from 10:30 a.m. to 12 noon on Saturday, September 17, 2016.
“Let’s remind ourselves of all the common and hardy plants, from trees to perennials, that will give us welcome fall color and also get ready for planting a mountain wildflower meadow, large or small. I say ‘let’s’ because I always learn from the experiences of others as well,” said Langley.
After a long career in wedding photography in Southern California, Langley and her husband moved to the Sierra Foothills where she now “works and plays” researching gardening in snow and deer country on their property near the Sierra National Forest.
Langley, who has a degree in art, design and photography, is a past president of the Mountain Laurel Garden Club, continues to give garden talks at True Value in Oakhurst where she once worked in the store’s garden center and runs an active Facebook page, Flea Market Gardening, for people who love to incorporate flea market and found items into their gardens. Her website is: SierraFoothillGarden.com.
The free presentation is sponsored by the Friends of the Oakhurst Branch Library. The workshop will be held in the Oakhurst Library’s Community Room located at 49044 Civic Circle Drive.
