MLJC LogoThe Mother Lode Jewish Community (MLJC) will be holding a pre-Selichot workshop on Sunday, September 18th, beginning at 1 p.m., in East Sonora.  MLJC member Rabbi Andra Greenwald who will be leading the workshop notes that “Selichot is the beginning of the Jewish penitential season.  On the 18th, we will gather to learn more about this annual observance, begin the High Holiday season together and write our own penitential prayers in preparation for this most special and holy time of year.”  Rabbi Andra will also be leading an MLJC Shabbat Shuvah service on Saturday, October 8th, beginning at 11 a.m., in Murphys.  Both are pot-luck affairs.  Members and nonmembers alike are welcome to both gatherings.  For more information, call 209-533-1650 or check out the MotherLodeJewishCommunity.org website.
