Sierra Historic Sites Association will be celebrating the 20th year of Mountain Heritage Days at Fresno Flats Village and Park on School Road in Oakhurst. Activities will be held Friday, September 16th through Sunday, September 18th. Along with vendors, great food, music, raffle, and many other events, the annual event will run from Friday, September 16th, the parade will be held on Saturday, September 17th at 10:00 a.m. This year’s theme, “Saving the Past for the Future”, helps guide the entries to celebrate our history.
As in past years, the parade will travel down School Road 427 to Road 426, ending at Golden Oak Drive. Announcer stands will be at Fresno Flats, the corner of School Road and 426, and in front of the Sierra Star. Viewing of the parade will be available along either road. Parade judges will be located in front of the Sierra Star. Entries may include classic cars, scout troops, community organizations, bands, floats, horse groups, clowns and marching groups and more!
Trophies and ribbons will be presented to the first, second and third place winners in each category, along with a Best of Show trophy. In addition, there will be a special plaque awarded to the best Commercial Float entered.
