June 19, 2026 - WASHINGTON, D.C. — On Tuesday, June 23, 2026 at 3 p.m. ET, U.S. Representative Robert Garcia (D-CA), Ranking Member of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, and U.S. Senator Richard Blumenthal (D-CT), Ranking Member of the Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations, will hold a bicameral public forum to expose how the Trump Administration is making children and families more vulnerable to illness and disease by destroying progress, dismantling health agencies, trying to take away life-saving vaccines, and lying to the American people about their “MAHA” promises to make people healthy.

Tuesday’s forum will include testimony from:

  • Daniel Jernigan, MD, MPH: Dr. Jernigan is the former director of CDC’s National Center for Emerging and Zoonotic Infectious Diseases. After more than three decades at the CDC, he is an internationally recognized expert on infectious disease readiness and response.

  • Anita Patel, MD: Dr. Patel is a pediatric critical care physician and Associate Professor of Pediatrics. For over a decade she has cared for critically ill children, conducted NIH-funded research, and worked to translate science into meaningful communication.

  • Jonathan E. Agin, JD: Mr. Agin is the Co-Founder and the Executive Director of PREP4Gold Childhood Cancer Organization. He has also served on the boards of several childhood cancer research organizations and as a grant reviewer. He lost his daughter Alexis to DIPG, a pediatric brain tumor, in January 2011.

  • Scott Faber, JD: Mr. Faber is Senior Vice President at the Environmental Working Group, a national environmental organization. He is a leading expert in food, farm, water, and since 2012, he has led various EWG campaigns to reform environmental regulations.

President Trump and Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. have made countless promises to make America healthy but instead they have gutted health research, cut critical federal programs, and restricted access to vaccines for millions of Americans. The Trump Administration disrupted more than $16 billion in research funding and their attacks on government programs and childhood vaccines raise risks of serious illness and needless death for children, including enabling the worst measles crisis in more than 30 years.

  • U.S. Representative Robert Garcia (D-CA)

  • U.S. Senator Richard Blumenthal (D-CT)

  • Members of the Senate and House of Representatives, including members of the Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations and the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform
