AAUW logoThe Mariposa Branch of AAUW (American Association of University Women) will host a public forum for the Mariposa Unified School District Board and John C. Fremont Healthcare District Director candidates to present their platforms on Wednesday, October 12 at 5:15 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. respectively at the Mariposa County Government Center Supervisors Chambers at 5100 Bullion Street, in Mariposa.

This first event will include candidates campaigning for Mariposa County Unified School District Board seats. While each board seat is occupied by a person from a different vicinity of the county, school board members are voted on by all county residents. This portion of the nonpartisan forum will give the community the opportunity to learn more about the candidates for the MCUSD board.

The second event will include candidates campaigning for the John C. Fremont Healthcare District Director seat.  Audience provided questions will be collated to provide a comparative opportunity to learn more about the candidates for the JCF board. This gives the community the opportunity to learn more about how the candidates feel about topics important to constituents. The event will feature opening and closing statements by each candidate as well as their responses to questions submitted by the audience in a neutral, moderated setting.

The public is encouraged to attend to be well informed on the candidates’ positions before the election on November 8, 2016.

The (event) is just one of several school and community programs offered by Mariposa AAUW, a branch of the 133-year-old national organization dedicated to advancing equity and lifelong learning for women and girls. For more information, visit AAUWMariposa.com.
