July 11, 2026 - The Sierra National Forest has issued Forest Order No. 05-15-00-26-08, effective July 10 through September 23, 2026.

This is fantastic news as the Sierra NF’s string of renovated and re-opened campgrounds continues with a big one; the newly renovated and beautiful Jackass Meadow Campground, re-opens July 11th on a first come first serve basis!  For planning purposes (see included map); 

In Loop 1 – Sites 1-17 it will have RV and tent sites available.

In Loop 2 – Sites 18; 23-35 is currently tent only because the last piece of work with the renovation, the boardwalk, is still being rebuilt and as a result, an RV currently cannot make it through the loop.

Come out and enjoy the newly renovated Jackass Meadow Campground!  Sierra NF’s deepest thanks to our partner, Southern California Edison, and their contractor, Tim Messer Construction, for all the work that went into delivering such a high-quality campground.
