July 13, 2026 – Tuolumne County Sheriff's Office officials report that on June 17, 2026, TNT detectives located Jerry
Frank Cress, a known narcotics offender with an active felony arrest warrant, in the passenger seat of a vehicle in a parking lot on Stockton Road, in the city of Sonora. Cress was ordered out of the vehicle and taken into custody. During a Post Release Community Supervision (PRCS) search, Cress was found to be in possession of approximately one gram of fentanyl. TNT Detectives conducted follow-up investigation and determined Cress had just purchased the fentanyl from Andrew Charles Bertolino, who resides at Camp Justice, in Sonora. Based on their investigation, TNT Detectives obtained a search warrant for Bertolino and his tent.
On the evening of June 17, 2026, TNT Detectives served the search warrant. During a search of Bertolino’s tent, TNT Detectives located small amounts of methamphetamine, fentanyl, a digital scale, and distinct drug packaging that matched the fentanyl packaging located in Cress’ possession earlier that day. Bertolino was interviewed and admitted to furnishing the fentanyl to Cress. Based on the investigation, Bertolino was placed under arrest for furnishing a controlled substance (fentanyl), possession of methamphetamine, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Due to Bertolino’s criminal activity, he has been permanently trespassed from Camp Justice.
