The MCHS Academic Boosters Club held its first Career Lunch of the new school year on Wednesday, October 5, 2016 in the high school Media Center. John C. Fremont Healthcare District Staff Education Coordinator Gonzo Tafoya, RN, and Kristen Fournier, RN, who is teaching the healthcare career course at the high school, presented information on a wide variety of direct patient care professions, like Nursing Assistant, Home Health Assistant, Emergency Room Tech, Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant, Laboratory Scientist, and more. Lorna Coci, Public Relations Coordinator for JCF, was also there and brought plenty of handouts on the various specialties for the students to take with them. Students enjoyed the speakers -- and the free lunch! Thanks to the generous funding of an anonymous donor, Career Lunches are always the first Wednesday of the month and always include a free lunch for the first 40 students who sign up! Next month's speaker will discuss the path towards teaching professions.Students were engaged and enjoyed the presentation.
