July 18, 2026 - Sierra National Forest officials say big news on the High Sierra!

2023 brought heavy storms that severely damaged many backcountry routes. Crews have now completed major rebuilds of roads in the Dinkey Mill area—restoring safe access to Dinkey Creek Campground, trailheads, and popular rec sites.

Thanks to a $3.54M recovery effort, visitors can again enjoy safe access, enhanced conditions, and healthier forest habitats.
