The NPC Annual Dinner was held on September 9, 2016 offering us the opportunity to take stock of our mission of spay/neuter of dogs and cats in the area and make plans for the future. There was also the opportunity to recognize the efforts of our co-workers and elect officers for the coming year. Tom Grave was elected president, Jo Balch vice president, Kristen Elgin secretary, and Jerry O’Neil membership chair. Kathleen Morse continues as a vice president. We were able to fill all five seats on the Board, as required by our by-laws.
The evening gave us the chance to honor the efforts of our outgoing president, Kara Middlebrooks, who served for four years, and the many years of work given NPC by Carmel Peterson, who was membership chair, and many other things for many years.
A highlight of each year’s Annual Meeting is a raffle, which adds laughter to the proceedings and money to our treasury. We would like to recognize and thank the various businesses and organizations who contributed to the success of this year’s raffle: Bambino’s Pizza, Panera, Sierra Flowers, The Outlet Store, Staples, Black Oak Casino, Save Mart, The Peppery, Yosemite Westlake Campground, and Friends of Northside Pet Connection. Thanks to all of you!
Returning to an earlier point—taking stock—it is noteworthy that against the backdrop of 8 vouchers per month in the early days of NPC, the month of September this year saw the distribution of 55 vouchers! It would be difficult to find a better measure of the strength of our organization.
Thanks for your interest in Northside Pet Connection.
