Idea Print Work Transitions into Lawson Studios LLC
Lawson Studios LLC announces its acquisition of Idea Print Work. Victor Weitzel founded Idea Print Work, a screen printing and embroidery company with advertising specialty products in 2000.
Lawson Studios, a local family owned business specializing in graphic and print design, will officially take over Idea Print Work on October 25th, 2016. 
Victor will be staying on to train the Lawson Studios team through November and will remain available to consult by phone after that. Though Victor plans to return to his roots in Oregon, pursuing a new opportunity, he will still offer support to the Lawson Studios team.
Lawson Studios sole proprietorship was founded in 2011 by Heather Lawson (pictured left). In 2014 Lawson Studios LLC was created under Heather, Kim and Dave Lawson. The Lawson family has been a part of the mountain community for many years, in fact, Dave moved to Mariposa in 1962, his daughters, Heather and Kim were born and raised in Mariposa. Leaving to pursue higher education and build their skill sets, they later returned to live in the community they love. They are excited to further expand Lawson Studios offerings by the acquisition of Idea Print Work.
“I am excited that Lawson Studios has decided to step up and purchase the business. I was hoping for someone local who would understand the area and be a part of the mountain community. I believe Lawson Studios will keep the community at heart and I am glad to hand over Idea Print Work to them,” said Victor.
Heather has begun extensive training with Victor. Currently, you will find her at the shop assisting with orders and all processes of the business.
“We are excited for this opportunity. At first I was shocked when I received Victor’s call asking if we would be interested in the print shop. Of course we were interested! Victor has built a wonderful and successful company. We aim to continue to grow what Victor has started,” said Heather Lawson.
The Idea Print Work team will be staying on with Lawson Studios including: Chenise Perry, Production Manager, who has been with Idea since 2005 and provides a wealth of knowledge and experience. Kyle Kjobech, will carry on assisting with screen-printing production. In addition, Vicki Price will continue to provide her expertise in accounting.
“We are grateful Chenise, Kyle and Vicki have decided to stay on with the new team. They will play an integral role in helping us to create a seamless transition,” Kim Lawson stated.
Also joining the Lawson team will be Derrick Singh, who has an extensive background in graphic design and print and will be taking on the role of Creative Director.
Lawson Studios looks forward to serving the community and continuing to build on Victor’s success and quality product.
An Open House will be held Wednesday, November 9th, 2016 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at 40085 Enterprise Dr., Oakhurst, CA 93644. The public is invited to join Lawson Studios for a meet and greet as well as appetizers.
