August 18, 2026 – Madera County Sheriff's Office officials report that on Friday, August 7, 2026, our Narcotics Enforcement Team (MADNET) served a search warrant in the area of Oakhill Road and Avenue 20 as part of an ongoing weapons investigation.
Detectives contacted an adult male seated in the driver’s seat of a vehicle in the driveway and detained him without incident. During the investigation, detectives located a loaded unserialized privately manufactured firearm inside a satchel on the passenger seat. The firearm was equipped with an auto-sear, an illegal conversion device capable of converting a semi-automatic pistol into a fully automatic firearm.
During the search of the residence, detectives located several firearms classified under California law as assault weapons, along with privately manufactured firearms, firearm suppressors, and approximately 100 homemade and illegally purchased conversion devices for pistols and rifles. Detectives also located a 3D printer believed to have been used to privately manufacture firearms.
Additionally, detectives seized suspected cocaine, digital scales, and a large amount of cash.
Two adult males were arrested and booked into the Madera County Jail on charges including:
- Possession of cocaine for sale
- Possession of an assault weapon
- Possession/manufacture of an auto sear
- Possession/manufacture of a firearm suppressor
- Possession of a controlled substance while armed with a loaded firearm
