September 4, 2026 – Placer County Sheriff’s Office officials report that on Thursday, just after 11:00 a.m., deputies attempted to stop a vehicle near Industrial Avenue and Athens Avenue in west Placer County. The driver failed to stop, leading to a short pursuit down Industrial Avenue.
The pursuit ended near Galilee Road, where the driver, later identified as 35-year-old Tommy Villarreal of Lodi, drove across a parking lot and over several medians before jumping out of the SUV and running.
Deputies chased after Villarreal and were able to take him into custody. He was booked into the South Placer Jail on several felony charges including evading a police officer. He was also booked for possession of meth, paraphernalia, burglary tools and a fake CDL.
Villarreal also had outstanding felony warrants from agencies in the Bay Area for kidnapping and domestic violence.
A special thanks to our partners at the California Highway Patrol, who assisted with air support, as well as the Roseville Police Department and Roseville Fire Department, who also responded to assist.
