yosemite el portal rockfall october 31 2016

Update: Tuesday at 4:00 A.M. The road could possibly be opened during the afternoon hours on Tuesday, November 1, 2016.

November 1, 2016 -  Yosemite National Park reports the El Portal Road (continuation of Highway 140 into Yosemite) is closed between Big Oak Flat Road junction and El Portal park entrance due to a rockfall that took place on Monday afternoon and will remain closed. They will reassess the road this morning and provide an update at that time.

Yosemite Valley remains accessible via Highway 41 from the south and Highway 120 from the west.
