Highway Ramp Closures on State Routes 33, 99 & 165 for September 20-26, 2026 

September 19, 2026 – Merced County – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will have traffic controls in place for the following construction and maintenance activities on State Route 99, (SR-99) in Merced County next week. Work is scheduled to occur as follows:

State Route 33

  • Overnight one lane closure at the northbound and southbound SR-33 at Mc Cabe Rd. and SR-140 for pavement work beginning Sunday, September 20, through Friday, September 25, 2026, from 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.

State Route 99

  • Full off-ramp closure on southbound SR-99 at Mission Avenue Over-Crossing for striping work beginning Sunday, September 20, through Thursday, September 24, 2026, from 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.
  • Overnight full on and off-ramp closures on northbound SR-99 at SR-59/Martin Luther King Jr. Way for striping work beginning Sunday, September 20, through Thursday, September 24, 2026, from 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.
  • Overnight full off-ramp closure on southbound SR-99 at SR-59/Martin Luther King Jr. Way for pavement work beginning Monday, September 20, through Thursday, September 24, 2026, from 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.
  • Overnight full on and off-ramp closures on southbound SR-99 at 16th Street for striping work beginning Sunday, September 20, through Thursday, September 24, 2026, from 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.
  • One way traffic control on SR-99 and East Atwater overpass for utility work beginning Monday, September 21 through Friday, September 25, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
  • Overnight full on and off-ramp closures on northbound and southbound SR-99 at Winton Parkway Over-Crossing for striping work beginning Sunday, September 20, through Friday, September 25, 2026, from 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.
  • Overnight full on-ramp closure on southbound SR-99 and Collier Rd. for striping work beginning Sunday, September 20, through Friday, September 25, 2026, from 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.
  • Overnight full on and off-ramp closures on northbound SR-99 at Shanks Road Over-Crossing for striping work beginning Sunday, September 20, through Friday, September 25, 2026, from 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.
  • Overnight full on-ramp closure on southbound SR-99 at Shanks Road Over-Crossing for striping work beginning Monday, September 21, through Friday, September 25, 2026, from 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.
  • Overnight full on-ramp closure on northbound SR-99 at Bradbury Road Over-Crossing for striping work beginning Sunday, September 20, through Friday, September 25, 2026, from 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.
  • Overnight full off-ramp closure on southbound SR-99 at Bradbury Road Over-Crossing for striping work beginning Sunday, September 20, through Friday, September 25, 2026, from 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.
  • Overnight full off-ramp closure on northbound SR-99 at South Turlock/Golden Gate Blvd. Over-Crossing for striping work beginning Sunday, September 20, through Friday, September 25, 2026, from 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.

State Route 165

  • One way traffic control on SR-165 north and southbound between Pone Line Rd. and Cotton Gin Rd. for core drilling on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, from 8:00 am to 3:30 p.m.

Motorists should expect 5-to-10-minute delays and use alternate routes whenever possible. All work is scheduled to occur as listed but is subject to change due to traffic incidents, weather, availability of equipment/materials, and construction-related issues.
