Sierra Foothill Charter School participated in Red Ribbon Week the week of October 24 through 28, plus a bonus day on Monday, October 31, 2016.

Red Ribbon Week is an event sponsored by Mariposa Safe Families to encourage students to stay away from drugs and to make healthy choices. Each day had a new theme.

Monday's theme was, "Follow your dreams. Don't do drugs!" Students enjoyed wearing pajamas to school.

Tuesday's theme was, "Saying no to drugs is music to my ears." Students were encouraged to dress to show their appreciation for music.
SFCS 0156Many of Wendy Baumann's first and second graders got very creative with the music theme. One student, Khloe Reynolds (red jacket), even came dressed as Michael Jackson.

On Wednesday, SFCS students and staff celebrated Red Ribbon Week by wearing the color red. The theme: “Be RED-y for success by not doing drugs.”

Students and staff got very creative with crazy hair day on Thursday to match the theme: "Doing drugs is crazy."
SFCS 0235This kindergartener, Madison Michael, even had a tea cup hanging from her hair.

Friday was "Dress like a super hero" day.
SFCS 2421There were a number of supermans, wonder womans and the like, but some students noted super heroes among us, like Creed Edwards as a firefighter and his sister, Lily, as a doctor.

In a schoolwide assembly, special visitor Sergeant Ramirez told students the history of Red Ribbon Week and students had a second special visitor: Red Ribbon Man!

On Monday, students wore their school-appropriate costumes as they "Say Boo to Drugs." It was also Fun Monday with activities on the blacktop and in the multi at the end of the day. All had fun celebrating Red Ribbon Week and Halloween!
