November 9, 2016 – Over 4.6 Million people have visited Yosemite National Park since January 1, 2016.
October 2016 visitors to Yosemite National Park by auto rises 31.8% from October 2015. Year to date numbers show an increase of visitors by auto of 22.7%.
The Arch Rock Entrance Station (Mariposa -Highway 140) had an increase of visitors by auto of 15.6% compared to October 2015. Year to date numbers show an increase of visitors by auto of 15.3%.
The Big Oak Flat Entrance Station (Groveland - Highway 120) had an increase of visitors by auto of 100.0% compared to October 2015. Year to date numbers show an increase of visitors by auto of 32.9%.
The South Entrance (Oakhurst - Highway 41) had a decrease of visitors by auto of -.04% compared to October 2015. Year to date numbers show an increase of visitors by auto of 14.8%.
The total recreation visitors to Yosemite National Park for October 2016 was up by 34.9% compared to October 2015. Year to date numbers show an increase of recreation visitors of 20.1%.
Park Comments for October
Tamarack Flat and Porcupine Flat campgrounds closed for the season on 10/15.
Crane Flat campground closed 10/10 for the season.
Hodgdon Meadow and Wawona campground went of advance reservations 10/10 and is available on a first come first serve basis.
