October 8, 2026 – Turlock Police Department officials report that on Wednesday, October 7, Turlock Police arrested Anthony Wyatt, 35 of Turlock, after receiving a tip about inappropriate online communications with someone he believed to be a 13-year-old girl.
The investigation revealed that Wyatt had been communicating with an individual posing as a minor through social media. Despite being told the individual was 13 years old, Wyatt continued the conversations and allegedly requested sexually explicit photographs.
Wyatt was arrested and booked on suspicion of two felony offenses:
- 288.3(A)PC — Contacting a minor with intent to commit a sexual offense
- 311.1(A) PC — Obscene material depicting a minor
We appreciate the individual who brought this information forward and helped bring this activity to the attention of law enforcement.
We want to remind parents and guardians that online safety starts with open conversations at home. Know who your children are communicating with, talk to them about the dangers of sharing personal information or photos, and encourage them to speak up if someone online makes them uncomfortable.
If you suspect a child is being targeted online, please report it to your local law enforcement agency.
