The Mariposa Museum and History Center is a non-profit organization and relies almost entirely on volunteer staff to keep it running. We are currently in need of Docent Volunteers and Tour Guides for a variety of our displays and exhibits. We are looking for people who are knowledgeable or are eager to learn about local and California History, Gold Panning, Mining, Printing Presses, Native American history, and a range of other subjects. We also have a team of volunteers that help with general maintenance, construction projects, and could even use volunteers in our Archiving and Research Departments.
Our Docent shifts are from 9:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. and from 12:45 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Tour Guides are on an on-call basis and are mostly needed during the spring and summer seasons when the Museum is busy with school field trips and tour groups.
If you are interested in Volunteering with us, please stop in to pick up an application, or you may contact us by phone at (209) 966-2924, or email us at mmhc@sti.net. We look forward to meeting you and having you on our team!
We are located at 5119 Jessie Street in Mariposa, right off Highway 49 across from the Happy Burger Diner.
