Technology and Community Partnership Help Locate Felony Suspect
October 22, 2026 – Clovis Police Department officials report that a felony suspect is in custody this following a coordinated
effort between law enforcement and our community. Just after 4:45 P.M. on Wednesday afternoon, October 21, dispatch received a 911 call reporting a stolen e-bike that had just occurred near Shaw and Leonard. As officers were being dispatched, our Real-Time Information Center (RTIC) used our city camera network and our Drone First Responder (DFR) launched. Using this technology, officers were directed to the area that the suspect abandoned the stolen e-bike near Gettysburg and Locan.
Fresno Police Department’s helicopter and bystanders also assisted in locating the suspect, who was ultimately found hiding in the backyard of a home and arrested without incident. The suspect was identified as 27-year-old Juan Valencia of Fresno. He has been booked into Fresno County Jail for grand theft and obstructing a peace officer.
The e-bike is being returned to its owner, and there were no injuries. Thank you to the Fresno Police Department and our community for your assistance with this crime.
