High-Country Health Food and Cafe in Mariposa California

November 4, 2026 – Placer County Sheriff’s Office officials report that on Saturday, October 31, detectives from the Placer County Sheriff’s Office joined the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation and the Rocklin Police Department for “Operation Boo,” an annual effort to conduct compliance checks on registered sex offenders throughout Placer County.

During the operation, the team visited homes and inspected vehicles to ensure individuals were following the terms of their release and supervision. These checks help verify compliance with restrictions designed to protect the community, particularly on Halloween, when children are out trick-or-treating. Those restrictions include prohibitions on distributing candy, displaying Halloween decorations or leaving porch lights on.

Pablo Blancas, 29, for a felony parole violation involving possession of a sword and baton.

Operation Boo is part of ongoing efforts by local law enforcement agencies to monitor compliance with supervision requirements and help protect the community.
