On Saturday, December 17 at 10 a.m. Dr. Ken Jones of A-Team for Wildlife in Angels Camp will give a lively presentation on rainforest conservation that will include live macaw parrots and a discussion of how drones, robots and other technology is being used to help protect rapidly dwindling rainforests throughout the world.

Participants are invited to stay after the presentation and plant a rainforest plant to take home, along with rainforest word searches and other handouts.

Once a month, the Library offers free presentations and workshops through its new Green S.T.E.A.M. Makerspace program. The workshops focus on sustainability and the five components of S.T.E.A.M.—science, technology, engineering, art and math.
