After much fundraising at the beginning of the school year, on November 30 through December 2, Sierra Foothill Charter School students in grades 5-8 went to Yosemite on a trip with NatureBridge, continuing their studies of ecology and natural history in a beautiful outdoor classroom. Both at school and in the park, students studied climate change and its alarming effects on ecosystems around the world. In the park, students took a close look at bark beetles’ exponential growth and why they are causing tree mortality. Here, students take at Yosemite Falls.
