The National Weather Service in Hanford CA has issued a
* Small Stream Flood Advisory for... Southeastern Mariposa County in central California... Central Madera County in central California...
* Until 915 AM PST
* At 613 AM PST, Doppler radar detected a line of heavy showers and thunderstorms extending from Crane Flat southwestward into western Madera county. Willow Creek below Crane Valley Reservoir is already running high and is bankful. Additionally, evacuations are being conducted in North Fork and other locations upstream below Crane Valley Dam. Additional rain in this region will heighten the flood threat with further rises in water levels anticipated along Willow Creek this morning. Additional rainfall of a half inch to 1.5 inches is possible in the advisory area this morning.
If you live in a flood prone area and evacuations are necessary, please heed the advice of law enforcement officials to safety shelters.
* Some locations that will experience flooding include... Yosemite South Entrance, Oakhurst, Yosemite Lakes, Chilkoot Meadow, Fish Camp, Ahwahnee, Mariposa Grove, Peckinpah, Coarsegold, Poison Ridge, Bass Lake, Batterson, North Fork and Crane Valley Reservoir.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
