SFCS 02Sierra Foothill Charter School students David Barrena, Tucker Knauf, Bret Brown, Levi Evans, and Westley Sheffield show off their pride in being SFCS Colts with colorful spirit wear.

Sierra Foothill Charter School (SFCS), a free, non-profit, K-8 public school located at 4952 School House Road in Catheys Valley, is accepting New Student Intent to Enroll forms and Continuing Student Re-enrollment forms as of Monday, January 16, 2017 as part of its Open Enrollment period for the 2017-2018 school year. Open Enrollment continues through Wednesday, April 12 at 4 PM.

As a public school, Sierra Foothill Charter School (SFCS) is nonsectarian, tuition-free, and does not test or assess students in any way prior to admission, just as all other public schools in California.

Those interested in having their children attend SFCS in 2017-2018 are encouraged to submit Intent to Enroll forms by April 12. Forms can be picked up at the school or downloaded from the SFCS website.  To have the form mailed, emailed or faxed, call the school office at (209) 742-6222.

It is important to note that the waiting list does not carry over from year to year. If you have a child on the waiting list for this 2016-2017 school year and would like your child to attend in 2017-2018, you will need to re-submit a New Student Intent to Enroll form by the April 12 deadline. If the number of students wishing to attend SFCS exceeds its capacity, SFCS will hold a random public drawing (lottery) on Friday, April 14 at 4 PM on campus.

If a lottery becomes necessary, existing students are guaranteed enrollment and will be exempt as long as Continuing Student Re-enrollment forms are submitted during the open enrollment period. Siblings of enrolled students are also exempt from the lottery and will be offered admission if space is available, taken in the order that enrollment forms are received.

If SFCS holds a lottery, students will be notified of admission or position on the waiting list by telephone on April 15. Registration packets will be made available soon after.

If a lottery is not necessary, students will continue to be admitted after April 12 in the order that enrollment forms are received until such time as classrooms become full. Once classrooms are full, interested parties will be placed on a waiting list, and will be contacted if space becomes available.

All who are interested in attending SFCS in 2017-2018 but would like more information are encouraged to call the school office at (209) 742-6222 to arrange a visit. More information can also be found at SFCS’s website, SierraFoothillCharterSchool.org.
