January 25, 2017 - The Mariposa County Sheriff's Office has created a chart to assist the public with the Adult Recreational Use of Marijuana Act.
GENERAL INFORMATION:Adults 21 years of age and older are allowed to grow, process, buy and possess limited amounts of marijuana, with certain restrictions.
A license from the State of California is required for all related commercial activities, including growing, processing, distribution, sales (wholesale or retail) of marijuana and related derivative or additive products.
Proposition 64 does not change County regulations or State Law that otherwise apply to possession and use of marijuana for medical purposes.
Hemp, distinct from marijuana, as an agricultural product and is regulated separately by the State.
COMMERCIAL ACTIVITIES: GROWING, PROCESSING, DISTRIBUTION, SALE, PUBLIC USE
• The State of California Bureau of Marijuana Control is developing procedures and regulations for licensing commercial activities under the act. The State of California has not yet adopted licensing procedures and regulations. These are required to be in place by January 2018.
