January 28, 2017 - The Mariposa County Unified School District (MCUSD) is seeking applicants for positions on its Bond Oversight Committee (BOC). This citizens’ committee is a legal requirement associated with the passage of Measure L,

According to California Education Code, the prescribed functions of the committee are as follows:
1) Inform the Public. The Committee shall inform the public concerning the District’s expenditure of bond proceeds.
2) Review Expenditures. The Committee shall review expenditure reports to ensure that (a) bond proceeds were expended only for the purposes set forth in Measure L; and (b) no bond proceeds have been used for teacher or administrative salaries or other operating expenses.
3) Annual Report. At least once annually, the Committee shall prepare an annual written report, the findings of which shall be summarized to the Board in public session.
The Committee shall NOT be responsible for the oversight of any projects not financed through general obligation bond proceeds. The Committee also will not be involved in the establishment of priorities for bond projects, the selection of architects, engineers, and other professional service firms required to complete the project(s), the approval of the design for each project, or the selection of independent audit firm(s) or consultants.
