10:10 A.M. Update:
Big Oak Flat Road will remain closed at least until tomorrow (Tuesday) morning, due to a rockfall that began yesterday morning. Material is continuing to come down and there's a boulder that appears to be in an unstable position. Several more inches of rain are forecast in the next few days
On a side note, the Merced River is forecast to peak early Friday morning near 8 feet, which is 2 feet below flood stage and 4.7 feet below peak flow last month. (The river reaches 7 to 8 feet during spring in most years.)
February 6, 2017 - Yosemite National Park reports as of Monday morning the Big Oak Flat Road is temporarily closed from Crane Flat to the Foresta Road junction due to an active rockfall.
