February 11, 2017 - The National Weather Service in Hanford CA has extended the
* Flash Flood Warning for... Southwestern Mariposa County in central California... East central Merced County in central California...
* Until 1015 AM PST Saturday
* At 355 AM PST, Army Corps of Engineers continued to report that water was overtopping Mariposa Dam on Mariposa Creek upstream from Le Grand and also reported that water was overtopping Owens Dam on Owens Creek upstream from Planada.
* Flood waters are moving down Mariposa Creek and Owens Creek. The flood crest is expected to reach LeGrand and Planada this morning.
* AFFECTED AREAS: MARIPOSA ... MERCED
Instructions:
Stay away or be swept away. River banks and culverts can become unstable and unsafe. A Flash Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring. If you are in the warned area move to higher ground immediately. Residents living along streams and creeks should take immediate precautions to protect life and property.
