Soroptimist is an international volunteer organization working to improve the lives of women and girls through programs leading to social and economic empowerment. In addition to participating in international projects, the Mariposa Club achieves this mission locally by giving scholarships to graduating seniors, presenting monetary awards to women that are the heads of their households seeking further education, and donating funds and services to organizations, including Mountain Crisis, Ethos, Manna House, Helping Hands, and the John C. Fremont Hospital Foundation.
These efforts are made possible through local Soroptimist fundraisers, including the Spring Fiesta Dinner & Dance on Saturday, March 25, 2017 at the Mariposa Fairgrounds, Sequoia Room, featuring a taco bar dinner. Tickets are $25. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Dinner served at 6:30 p.m. Dance to the music of D.J. Mark Carpenter. There will also be a silent auction, huge raffle, and a no host bar featuring frozen margaritas. For tickets or more information please contact a Soroptimist member or call Karen at 209-742-4680.
