Throughout the month of February, Sierra Foothill Charter School staff worked with students on understanding the fine points of the Core Virtue of Honesty. On Friday, March 3, students who have exemplified honest behavior throughout the year were recognized in a school wide assembly.
Congratulations to those students: Jacqueline Telles-Trujillo, Ian Beutel-DePrano, Cole Silva, Eva Smerber Lily Grauman, Tyler Knauf, Indra LaRoche, Gavin Edwards, Ares Goodman, and Chloe Sheets.
To start the assembly, Erika Miranda's fifth and sixth graders presented five short skits showing the importance of being honest even when it might get you in trouble.
Here, students fool around rather than pay attention in class. They are honest with the teacher and given more time to finish the assignment, though at a lower grade than what they would have received if they had been on task and finished on time. Pictured are Wyndham Evans, Wyatt Brouillette, Jamie Ardell, Cole Silva, Sayer Harry, (standing behind) Nayo Rhoan, and Malachi Shelton.
Every month students receive tickets for times when their behavior goes above and beyond what is expected. They can either turn in their tickets immediately for a prize from the treasure chest or they can enter their ticket into a drawing for a grand prize. This month's grand prize of a lava lamp went to Rya Salonen.
Friday, March 3, 2017 marked the end of the second trimester. Congratulations to these students who had 95% or better attendance and no tardies for the second trimester: (back row): Elle Sexton, Rya Salonen, Tristen McCulloch, Sayer Harry, Malte Salonen, Andrayah Collins, Jaeyanna Bolar, Gabe Specht; (in front of back row, standing on stage) Chloe Sheets, Owen Eastwood, Tyler Collins, (front row) Daniel Specht, Joan Soldevila, Lily Grauman, Conner Eastwood, Vera Smerber, Eva Smerber, and Malaya Shelton.
