The Mariposa branch of the AAUW (American Association of University Women) provided Andrea Contreras the opportunity to nominate some of her seventh grade girls to attend Tech Trek, AAUW's annual exciting week-long summer camp focused on science, technology, engineering and math, held at Fresno State University. Students submitted an application along with an essay on how they would use science and math to make the world a better place. Students who made it through this round then participated in an interview.

Congratulations to SFCS seventh grader Ryan Ramirez who was chosen in the rigorous process, along with 7 other girls in Mariposa County, to attend Tech Trek this summer. Great job! What a wonderful experience it will be. SFCS wishes to thank AAUW-Mariposa for providing this opportunity.
