On Tuesday, April 11, Yosemite National Park Service Ranger Christine Raines, a member of the Education Branch of YNP, visited with Sierra Foothill Charter School TK through 2nd grade students and then with students in grades 3 through 8. Her presentations about watersheds helped students understand watersheds, human impact on watersheds, and ways watersheds can be protected and conserved. Students learned about land use within watersheds and ways human activity affects watersheds. This was Ranger Christine's second visit to SFCS this school year. She was on campus back in February to discuss animals native to Yosemite and to share pelts and skulls for students to touch and examine closely. SFCS is grateful to Ranger Christine for sharing her knowledge and expertise with students.
