Reid Allen Marks

January 22, 1932 - July 27, 2014

Reid Allen graced us with his presence, gave us life, guided us thru life with a zeal unmatched, he had "been there, done that" several times over, lived life on his terms.

Reid served in many ways with several different careers, US Navy, a career firefighter with the US Forest Service, local business owner of Radio Shack, Mariposa Legal Support and SBT software support, Special Operations (Incident Support Services), traveling and spending 6 weeks in support of Hurricane Katrina and Rita at the age of 73.

Reid led by example as a local volunteer to many causes, Triangle 4H, Mariposa SAR, Mariposa SO Reserve Sargent, MPUD Fire, protector of Nelder Grove, Mariposa Rotary.

Known for his laugh, humor, willingness to dance and swap stories.

Survived by his wife of 59 plus years, Adele, his brother Keith of Pearblossom, daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Doyle Nason of Mariposa, his son and daughter-in-law, Russell and Tricia of Mariposa, grandchildren and their families , Kym, Jona, Job, Ross and Elizabeth, and 11 great grandchildren. 

A Celebration of his life will be held Saturday, August 2, 2014 at 10 a.m. at the Mariposa County Fairgrounds Picnic area.  After an informal brief memorial, attendees are welcome to bring a potluck dish to share and swap some stories.
