On the afternoon of May 21st 2015, Eric Alan Oster passed away surrounded by his family. He was 63. Eric was a kind quiet loving man and his life lives on through his family who loves and misses him very much. He was born in San Leandro, California was the youngest child of Arthur Arnold and Anna Olivia Oster.  After leaving San Leandro at the age of 8, the Oster Family relocated to Yosemite when his father began working as an electrician at the powerplant in Yosemite Valley. Eric attended elementary school in Yosemite National Park and graduated from Mariposa County High School in 1970. He remained in service to the communities surrounding Yosemite for the rest of his life.

Eric attended Fresno State and received his Certified Public Accountant license and later taught classes in accounting. He served as a CPA in Merced and Mariposa County for over 30 years.

He was a long time member of the Mariposa Rotary Club where he served as President to the club and then Treasurer for many years. Eric enjoyed serving the community of Mariposa and could often be found parking cars for the Mariposa County Fair, assisting at the MCHS Sober Grad Night, barbequing for the Mariposa Wine and Art festival, or playing golf in the Rotary and MCHS Golf Team fund raising golf tournaments. His favorite by far was seeing the out-going seniors off each year by dealing blackjack at Sober Grad Night till the wee hours of the morning.

He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Dana Oster; children Rachel Oster Lowe (Andrew Lowe), Eric Oster (Sara Higgs), and Keith Oster; grandchildren Jareth Lowe, Arianna Lowe and Alexis Oster, and his sisters Jill Phillips (Emmett Phillips) and Kristine Rose (Gary Rose) and numerous nieces and nephews.
