“Violent crime has no place in our communities, and today’s sentence ensures that individuals who threaten the safety of working citizens will face severe consequences,” said First Assistant United States Attorney Sigal Chattah for the District of Nevada. “Over a span of just 16 days, the defendant subjected innocent bank employees to terrifying ordeals. Our office, alongside the FBI and our local police partners in Henderson and North Las Vegas, remains unwavering in our commitment to removing violent offenders from our streets. We will continue to aggressively prosecute those who disrupt the peace and safety of the Las Vegas valley.”

“By entering these banks and threatening innocent people at gunpoint, the defendant made a reckless choice for which today’s sentence holds him fully accountable,” said Special Agent in Charge Christopher S. Delzotto for the FBI Las Vegas Field Office. “This outcome sends an unmistakable message: the FBI and local law enforcement will not tolerate violent crime. Thanks to the seamless cooperation between our agencies, a callous criminal has been taken off the streets, making our communities safer.”

According to court documents, between January 9, 2025, and January 25, 2025, Denzel Brishard Jones committed a total of three bank robberies in North Las Vegas and Henderson. At each of the robberies, he brandished an XBG BB-gun to make a display of force that reasonably caused the employees to fear bodily harm. In each robbery, Jones threatened to shoot employees and customers as he demanded money. He would then exit with the stolen money and flee the scene in a vehicle driven by co-defendant Tru’Shauna, also known as “Trashauna Outlaw.” Outlaw pleaded guilty to three counts of armed bank robbery and is scheduled to be sentenced December 10, 2026.
