Don't Miss JCF Hospital Foundation Black & White Ball
September 14, 2024 – JCF Hospital Foundation released their Black and White Ball details this week.
“We are really excited to be offering a more elegant food experience this year, plus all of the favorite event activities from last year,” said Mike Wichmann, Events Committee Chair.
Local professional Chef Heidi Pusina (www.chefheidipusina.com) will be creating a four-course meal for attendees to enjoy.
Attendees will be greeted with several appetizers to sample, including brussels sprouts fritters prepared with orange, date, and bacon jam; gourgès, prepared with prosciutto, fig, whipped gorgonzola, and a balsamic reduction; and a harissa glazed carrot tart prepared with a puff pastry, garlic tahini, preserved lemon, and ricotta.
To start the sit-down dinner, the second course will be a Tuscan kale salad including citrus, pomegranate, goat cheese, and pepitas with an orange maple dressing.
Attendees will choose between main course options of roast beef tenderloin with roasted autumn vegetables, garlic mashed potatoes, and an orange horseradish sauce; poached filet of salmon with roasted autumn vegetables, basmati rice with fresh herbs, and pomegranate glaze; or spinach stuffed gnocchi with roasted autumn vegetables, vegan sausage, and pumpkin-sage sauce.
Dessert is a cranberry orange tiramisu prepared with lady fingers, whipped cream, and Cointreau.
Many items will be naturally gluten-free, such as the beef and fish entrees.
Staff from 1850 Restaurant and Brewing Company will professionally operate the no-host bar.
The Soul Galaxy band returns this year with famed Central Valley rhythm and blues singer Cynthia Huddleston-Bennett. Last year’s guests thoroughly enjoyed the band’s well-known hits and danced the night away.
“We learned a lot from the event last year,” said Mike Wichmann, Events Committee Chair. “We are working on a quicker registration process and starting a little earlier this year. It is going to be a blast.”
This year’s Black and White Ball will be held Saturday, November 9, starting at 5:00 P.M. at the Mariposa Fairgrounds, Building A. This year’s theme is Planting the Seeds.
“There is much to celebrate,” said Megan Mickel, Events Committee member and operational lead for the event. “The community is planting the seeds for a new hospital, which will grow the Healthcare District’s capacity to serve the health needs of our rural community and the millions of visitors to this region. Also, with a significant senior population, we absolutely need a hospital.”
In addition to dinner and dancing, the fundraiser includes fantastic items in both a silent and a live auction as well as a raffle. Professional auctioneer, Buster Hewlett of Hewlett's Auctions and Estate Sales in Le Grand, is returning to turn up the excitement of the live auction.
It will be another wonderful evening, supporting a critical cause.
Only 250 tickets are available. Tickets are $120 each and can be purchased at John C. Fremont Healthcare District’s administration office or online at https://givebutter.com/JCFbwb2024. Purchase a table of eight and get a discounted rate. October 15 is the last day to purchase tickets. (Ticket Sales Have Been Extended)
