July 15, 2021 - On Wednesday, July 14, 2021 (7/14/21) at 3:49 P.M. (1549), Officer Barroso responded to 2030 G Street for a report of someone brandishing a firearm. Officers discovered that the brandishing was also a kidnapping by force.

While the victim was interviewed, the suspect, Andrew Derose (22) walked out of an alleyway with a gun and carjacked a vehicle. Officers made a traffic stop taking Derose into custody and located the gun. Derose is an active gang member and on parole. He was booked at Merced County Jail for Kidnapping and Carjacking.
