School Threat in Alpine 

November 24, 2024 – San Diego County Sheriff's Office officials report that last Thursday, November 21, 2024, around 5:30 p.m., the San Diego County Sheriff's Office was notified by the administration of Shadow Hills Elementary School in Alpine about threats made by two students against a group of students and teachers.

School administrators told deputies from the Alpine Sheriff's Station they had identified the suspects, who are also students at Shadow Hills Elementary. The parents of these two students were contacted by deputies and safety checks of their homes were conducted. The school has suspended the students pending further investigation.

A preliminary investigation by deputies has determined the threats do not appear to be credible. However, deputies conducted extra patrols of Shadow Hills Elementary School on Friday, November 22, out of an abundance of caution to ensure the safety of students and staff.

It is the policy of the Sheriff's Office not to release information about minors. The investigation is currently ongoing.

The safety of our school children is a priority for the Sheriff's Office. We take all threats seriously.
