Possible Drowning Update
June 20, 2023 - San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Office officials report that the Sheriff's Office has issued a press release on an update to a possible 
drowning.
The Coroner's Unit of the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Office is releasing the identification of a man whose body was recovered from the waters off Avila Beach on June 18, 2023. The man is identified as 40-year-old Christopher Neil Chisholm of Burbank, CA.
It's believed Chisholm fell out of his kayak. A friend who was kayaking with Chisholm tried to help but was unable to rescue him.
The body of the victim was found approximately two hours later. At this time, the death appears to be accidental.
An autopsy will be conducted to determine manner and cause of death.
