Deputy-Involved Shooting 

June 21, 2023 - Riverside County Sheriff’s Office officials report that on Monday, June 19, 2023, at 11:31 P.M., a deputy from the Lake Elsinore Sheriff’s Station conducted a check of an occupied vehicle in the area of Bromley Avenue and Baker Street in Lake Elsinore. When the deputy approached the vehicle, the driver produced a handgun and a deputy-involved shooting occurred.

The driver was struck by gunfire and deputies rendered medical aid until paramedics arrived. The driver was later transported to a local hospital where he remains in stable condition.

The involved deputy will be placed on paid administrative leave according to Department policy. The name of the involved deputy will not be released at this time.

An investigator from the Riverside County District Attorney’s Office will lead this investigation, aided by the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office Force Investigation Detail. This is an active and ongoing investigation.
