June 25, 2023 - Imperial County Sheriff's Office officials report that on June 14th thru June 16th, 2023, the Imperial County Sheriff's Office assisted the United States Marshalls El Centro Fugitive Task Force (USMS-ECFTF) in conducting a Sex Offender Compliance Operation. This operation was coordinated by the USMS-ECFTF and included a joint collaboration of 16 different law enforcement agencies.
During this operation, a total of 156 compliance checks were conducted, with a total of 10 arrests made for a wide range of offenses. These arrests included offenses for travel with intent to engage in a sex act, possession of child pornography, fleeing from a peace officer, and various arrest warrants. 8 new criminal investigations were opened as a result of this compliance operation.
Joint operations with the participation of multiple law enforcement agencies are crucial in ensuring the safety of our communities and ensuring compliance with the law by Sex Offenders who must comply with specific mandates.
